Biografi Yui ^_^

    YUI adalah artis J-pop/J-rock Jepang, yang lahir pada 26 Maret 1987, di Fukuoka, Jepang. Dia bernyanyi, bermain gitar akustik, dan menulis sendiri lagu-lagunya. Dua dari lagu-lagunya ditampilkan sebagai opening dan ending serial anime Jepang terkenal, BLEACH, yang membuatnya mendapatkan perhatian internasional. Dua lagu tersebut adalah "LIFE" sebagai ending kelima dan "Rolling star" sebagai opening kelima dari BLEACH.

Album pertamanya, From Me To You, dirilis pada 22 Februari 2006. Diantara ketiga belas lagu dalam album tersebut, sembilan diantaranya belum pernah dirilis sebelumnya, dan disambut dengan baik oleh para fans YUI. Album ini langsung mencapai peringkat yang cukup tinggi, yaitu peringkat kesembilan dalam penjualan album mingguan di Jepang, dengan lagu utama "TOKYO", memperoleh peringkat keempat pada chart lagu MTV Jepang.

YUI mulai menulis puisi pada saat tingkat sembilan. Pada usia enam belas tahun, dengan anjuran dari ibunya, YUI mulai mempelajari lagu, menulis lagu, dan belajar gitar pada suatu sekolah musik di Fukuoka. Bercita-cita untuk menjadi seorang musisi profesional, YUI menenteng gitarnya berkeliling dan bernyanyi di tempat-tempat tertentu di kampung halamannya, seperti di pantai Shinguu dan di tengah sawah Kaminofu.

Pada Maret 2004, YUI mengikuti audisi Sony Music Japan, dan menyanyikan tiga lagunya, yang seharusnya berdasarkan peraturan hanya boleh menyanyikan dua lagu. Semua juri memberikan nilai tertinggi pada YUI, yang mengakibatkan perebutan sengit diantara perusahaan label rekaman. Pertama-tama YUI menyanyikan "Why me", yang kemudian nanti dimasukkan ke dalam single debutnya, lalu YUI menyanyikan "It's happy line" dan "I know", yang nantinya dimasukkan YUI ke dalam single indienya. Dengan duduk bersila di lantai, YUI menggenjreng gitarnya dan bernyanyi. Para juri dan orang-orang yang hadir pada saat itu menyatakan bahwa "penampilan YUI menghasilkan suatu aura yang dahsyat dari suaranya yang sangat indah, dan sanggup merebut hati dari seluruh penonton".

YUI membintangi suatu film layar lebar yang dirilis pada 17 Juni 2006, yang berjudul : "Taiyou no Uta" (atau Midnight Sun dalam bahasa Inggris), yang kemudian ditampilkan pada festival film Cannes.

As announced, YUI gave her first press conference in Hong Kong to promote her upcoming live concert.
Telah diumumkan, YUI memberi konferensi pers pertama di HK buat promosi konser live yg akan datang.


Sony Music executives presented her with a guitar-shaped trophy at the conference in honor of her strong sales in the city, which include two platinum albums and 750,000 song downloads. Washington Times reports
Eksekutif Sony Music menghadiahkan dia dengan sebuah trofi berbentuk gitar di konferensi sebagai honor atas penjualan gigihnya di kota, yg mana termasuk 2 platinum album & 750.000 unduhan lagu.
